Versailles palace is situated in city of Versailles about 20 Km south -west of Paris and it was the house of few Kings of France, till Revolution in 1789. Palace has it's own painting exposition about European and France historical events, and they are exposed in galleries by chronological order of those events. if you like to see the Versailles palace garden and other mansions in the property, it is recommended to go in a not raining day, to be able walk in huge garden of place and see the statues. Depends how you organize your trip , visiting the Versailles Palace may take almost a day.
You can go easily to Versailles by taking the train, " RER line C " , the « RER C » passes through the center of Paris and goes directly to Versailles and some other destinations as well.
RER Ticket price is 4 -5 € (round trip ~9 €).
Interval of trains is 3-4 trains per hour on weekdays, they will be less on holidays.
A Taxi will be faster and more convenient, it cost about 35 € from Paris to Versailles Palace.
So if you are with family or few persons travelling together, taking a taxi will be a good choice.
